Our Ongoing Projects

Flowers  For Friends

Club members create floral arrangements at least twice a year for residents of Colonial Gardens, the Senior Center and Southborough home bound seniors.

Southborough Public Library Flowers

Club members provide bi-weekly floral arrangements between September
and June to greet visitors in the library’s entrance area.

Southborough Heritage Day

The Southborough Gardeners’ booth provides information to the public regarding the Club’s mission and contributions to Southborough.  The sale of seasonal items raises funds for Town Beautification projects.

Southborough Public Library Garden

The Club raises funds and provides volunteers to maintain the welcoming, contemplative garden on the west side of the Southborough Public Library.

November Guest Day

A Guest Speaker on festive holiday topics is followed by a lovely tea. This event is open to the public for a nominal fee and is considered to be a gift to the town in furtherance of the Club’s educational mission.  While enjoying Guest Day, sign up to attend our Winter Greens Workshop.

Winter Greens Workshop

This member-run workshop is held at the Community House for Club members and other participants, to try their hands at creating holiday decorations.  The Greens Workshop will be held on November 20th and hosted by Caroline Rossen and Danielle O'Connell.  Sign up to attend at November Guest Day.

Wreath Workshop
Members design several styles of festive holiday wreaths, take orders and get together to assemble wreaths for the friends and community members who ordered them.  Proceeds from the wreath sale support Town Beautification projects.

Scholarship Fund

A scholarship is given each year to a deserving Southborough student(s) planning to major or majoring in Horticultural or Environmental studies.  Please click the link to download a PDF copy of our Scholarship Application.

Spring Plant Sale

Member-grown as well as commercially grown plants  are sold to the public to raise money for the Club’s civic projects and scholarship fund.  Join us Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Gateway Traffic Island at Rt. 85

Gardeners design, fund and maintain the raised bed on the gateway traffic island at the intersection of Route  85 and Framingham Road.  Featuring drought tolerant perennials, the garden was planted for year-round color, low maintenance, and visual interest in mind.

Southborough Public Library Planters

In keeping with our mission of beautifying civic landscapes the Gardeners maintain the urns in front of the Southborough Public Library with beautiful displays that change with the seasons.
