Sally Watters, Southborough Historical Society Chair, and Michael Weishan, local landscape architect, will present an informative presentation regarding the

history of the Burnett-Garfield House.  Following their presentation, Ms. Watters

and Mr. Weisham will lead us on a tour of the new landscaping at one of our

most fascinating historic homes.

Holiday Brunch
Welcome the holidays!  Our Annual Holiday Brunch will be hosted by the ever gracious Michele Landes.  Results of the Plant Challenge will be on display and

a winner chosen.  Eight presenters will work in teams of two to create

beautiful table settings with floral centerpieces on four different themes

which they will be assigned ahead of time.

A Park Ranger from the National Park System based at the Frederick Law Olmstead National Historic Site in Brookline. will treat us to a presentation on the history and legacy of Frederick Law Olmstead.  Olmstead is recognized for founding the profession of landscape architecture in America

and is the country's foremost parkmaker.  Moving to Brookline, Olmsted established the world's first

full-scale landscape architecture office at his estate, "Fairsted".  From there, Olmstead, his sons,

and their associates designed thousands of landscapes across North America, including the

collection of parks known as Boston's "The Emerald Necklace".

Field Trip and Business Meeting

We will head out on a field trip to Hopkinton to gather in the warm greenhouses at Weston Nurseries to create succulant terrariums under the direction of Sara Barrios, Assistant

Greenhouse Supervisor.  You may take home your tiny green landscape to brighten

your home during the winter months.

Business Meeting and Program

Southborough Gardeners' own Julie Lapham will share how she finds inspiration when pairing

a floral arrangement with a book cover.  She will show us techniques and explain her process as

she creates her arrangement.  Library Staff will supply sample books so members can select

a book at the meeting or may use another title of their choice to pair with an arrangement

for our "Books in Bloom" Reception at the Southborough Library on April 13th.

An evening reception at the Southborough Library is planned to showcase all the floral arrangements and book pairings created by our members.  Refreshments will be served.  This event is open to the Southborough community.  Please invite your friends and family to attend the reception or visit the exhibit at the Library on April 14 and 15.
